You'll stay beside Niagara Falls, then close to Times Square in the heart of New York City and, last but not least, in the capital, Washington DC... Niagara Falls ACTIVITY LEVEL Day 1: UK-Toronto. Fly to Toronto and transfer to Niagara Falls for a two-night stay. You'll be close enough to the Falls to experience their roar this evening. Day 2: Niagara Falls. Today you'll experience the power of Canada's most iconic attraction up close as you cruise the Niagara River to the foot of the Falls. The cruise takes you past the base of the America Falls and then into the plunge pool of the most powerful waterfall of the trio, Horseshoe Falls. Around 2,271,247 litres of water per second thunder over this 167-foot drop and your boat slides into its mist storm and churning chaotic pool. Return to land, perhaps a little wetter than when you set out, and explore the city of Niagara Falls independently. This evening is at leisure. As darkness descends a light show paints the falls with a myriad of bright colours, so have your camera at hand. B Day 3: New York. Today you take the six-hour drive to New York State, a journey through stunning scenery broken up by rest stops. On arrival in New York State you'll visit the Corning Glass Museum to see some of the 45,000 glass objects that cover 3,500 years of glassmaking. You can also watch master craftsmen create new glass objects and discover innovations in glass that have changed the world. Later, check into your hotel in the heart of the `Big Apple' for a three-night stay. This evening is at leisure so perhaps explore the city's many eateries for dinner and maybe book tickets for a show during your stay. Day 4: New York. This morning, enjoy a sightseeing tour of the city in the company of a knowledgeable local guide. Your tour bus will cruise by all the major sights of New York, including Times Square, Wall Street, Central Park and the Empire State Building. This afternoon and evening are at leisure so you have plenty of time to explore the city in greater depth. Perhaps return to the Empire State Building and take the trip to the top or stroll in Central Park. Head across Brooklyn Bridge where information boards indicate points of interest or visit The Guggenheim art museum. B Day 5: New York. Today is at leisure. You can either relax or continue your exploration of New York ­ there's plenty to see! Perhaps visit the Metropolitan Museum of Art or the Statue of Liberty, join the throng in Chinatown or go window shopping in the swanky Time Warner Center. Day 6: Washington DC. This morning, look forward to a journey aboard an Amtrak train. Embark at NYC Penn Station and travel to Washington DC Union Station. Drinks and meals (not included) and free Wi-Fi are available during your three-and-a-half hour journey. On arrival in Washington DC transfer to your hotel for a three-night stay. This evening is at leisure. Day 7: Washington DC. Set out on a morning sightseeing tour of the city in the company of a knowledgeable local guide and view the White House, US Capitol Building, Supreme Court, Kennedy Centre and many more monuments and memorials. Washington DC was established as the new capital of the United States of America after the American Revolution and named after the first president and founding father, George Washington. In the afternoon you can explore the capital independently. B Day 8: Washington DC. Enjoy a day at leisure, exploring Washington DC at your own pace.
