NEW The twin Petronas Towers ACTIVITY LEVEL Day 1: UK-Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Fly overnight to Kuala Lumpur. Day 2:Kuala Lumpur. Arrive in the city of Kuala Lumpur, the capital of mainland Malaysia, for a three-night stay. Enjoy a welcome drink before settling in, then head to the Club Lounge for cocktails between 5.30 and 8.30pm. Dinner is at the hotel, with two complimentary drinks. D Day 3: Kuala Lumpur. This morning join a sightseeing tour. You'll stop first at the 88-storey twin Petronas Towers with a 'sky bridge' between them. Continue to the Chinatown district, then on to see Parliament House, the War Memorial, new King's Palace and the Federal Court. Drive past the vast Masjid Negara ­ the national mosque ­ before lunch at a restaurant. Return to your hotel for an afternoon at leisure. B, L Langkawi George Town Penang Malaysia nights in hotel Kuala Lumpur Day 4: Kuala Lumpur. Today is at leisure. Alternatively, you may like to venture further afield on an optional excursion. These include a visit to the small and colourful state of Malacca ­ a UNESCO World Heritage Site ­ or to Malaysia's second city, Putrajaya, a blend of eye-catching modern international and Islamic architecture. Alternatively, you can take a walk in the Forest Research Institute rain forest or meet the residents of the National Elephant Conservation Centre. Tonight you'll visit a restaurant for a traditional Malay dinner and cultural show. B, D Day 5: Penang. Take a long but scenic drive north to Penang, stopping for lunch at a restaurant en route. Stay three nights in a British Colonial-style hotel in the area of Penang known as George Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Enjoy exclusive access to the Planters Lounge, serving complimentary breakfasts and tea and coffee throughout the day, and cocktails from 5 to 6pm. B, L, D Day 6: George Town, Penang. George Town is Penang's main centre, established by the British in the 18th century and named after King George IV. This morning, visit the sea front and water villages of Chinese clan houses. Continue along the 'Street of Harmony' to see the Goddess of Mercy Temple, an Indian shrine and a mosque, before encountering parts of Chinatown and Little India. Visit the Penang State Museum, see the Burmese Temple and the Thai Temple of the Reclining Buddha with its 33 metre-long horizontal figure of Buddha in his gilded robe. Enjoy lunch in a restaurant, then return to the hotel for an afternoon at leisure. B, L Day 7: Penang. Today is at leisure. Or you might like to join one of the optional excursions on offer. You could visit the Buddhist Kek Lok Si Temple with its seven-storey Pagoda of 10,000 Buddhas, ride the funicular Penang Hill Railway up Penang Hill, visit Monkey Beach ­ home to Crab-eating Macaque monkeys or spend some time at Orangutan Island! B, D Day 8: Langkawi. The morning is at leisure before a 30-minute flight to the west coast and the 99-island archipelago of Langkawi. You'll stay on the main island with its beautiful beaches, mangrove swamps and tempting duty-free shopping just 200 metres from the beach and Andaman Sea. B, D Day 9: Langkawi. This morning, enjoy a guided tour of the island past charming rural villages, paddy fields, rubber plantations and glorious beaches. Discover the tomb and the legend of beautiful Princess Mashuri and visit the Batik Art Village where you'll see the technique of waxing and dying fabric. Head to lovely Eagle Square to admire a 12-metre tall statue of an eagle ­ the symbol of the island. Lunch is included at a local restaurant before you return to the hotel for an afternoon at leisure. B, L Day 10: Langkawi. Today is at leisure, perhaps head to the beach or the hotel pool.
