Maro and the Caves of Nerja: Choose to view the Caves of Nerja containing the world's largest known stalactite (extra charge), or alternatively join a five-kilometre walk through Maro town and the surrounding fields. The two groups will rejoin for the main walk into the nearby National Park. The Alpujarra region: With its spectacular snow-covered mountain peaks the Alpujarra is one of the most beautiful regions of Spain. This walk centres on the spa town of Lanjaron and includes a gradual, lengthy ascent to reveal breathtaking views of the spectacular valley. Frigiliana and Cómpeta: Explore one of the 'white villages' of Andalusia, visiting its ruined castle and walk through rolling hills to the pretty villages of Archez and Canillas. Coastal walk: Trace coastal paths to Salobrena, climb to the castle grounds with views over the coastal plain and return via the beach and a hidden valley. Your holiday includes one orientation walk and around two-and-a-half hours and four full-day coastal and countryside walks which are moderate to strenuous and range from approximately 11-15 kilometres with ascents and descents. Your programme Cliff of Barbate: Enjoy a scenic walk along the coastal footpath that runs from Barbate to Canos de Meca. The Green Gorge: This walk reveals La Garganta Verde, a spectacular gorge formed by erosion over thousands of years, located in the Grazalema Natural Park. Tarifa: Tarifa and its surrounding natural park offers scenery from pine forests to rugged gorges. This is the longest walk in your programme, beginning in Estrecho Natural Park and ending at the Silla del Papa, `Chair of the Pope', an ancient elevated settlement. Alcornocales Natural Park: Take a gentle walk through Alcornocales Natural Park, known for its ancient cork trees and canutos ­ deep valleys eroded by rivers. Venture along one to the Guadalmesi River. Sierra of the Grazalema Natural Park: Explore the fir forests of this UNESCO Biosphere Reserve during a walk through mountainous landscapes.
