Look out here for the marsh harrier, hoopoe and greater flamingo. Cabo de Gata Natural Park ­ the Steppes and Gypsum: In these areas you may see the blue rock thrush, black wheatear, little owls and perhaps even a bee-eater. Tabernas desert and mid arid mountain: This arid semi-desert region is home to the lark, European roller, wagtails, kestrels. If you're lucky, you may spot a golden eagle! The west coast of Almeria ­ wetlands: Here waterbirds include Andouin and slender-billed gulls, shelduck and shoveller ducks, egrets and more. Los Vélez Natural Park: This diverse park is a 'special protection zone' whose 'stars' include the griffon vulture and lesser kestrel.
