This means you can admire views over the English Channel and the Isle of Wight on one side, and the islands of Poole Harbour on the other. Look forward to tempting British cuisine at the Seaview Restaurant, which certainly lives up to its name, and drinks in the lounge bar. There's also a ten-metre indoor pool, a gym and sauna. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout. The hotel even has its own watersports academy (extra charge) where, if you're feeling adventurous, you can try your hand at sailing, kayaking and anything else water-related. The music of jazz and swing has a fascinating history ­ by the 1920s, jazz was so popular the decade was known as `the Jazz Age' while a little later, `Swing' followed with its distinctive beat and driving rhythm, providing an unforgettable `soundtrack' for the 1930s-40s. As well as enjoying some of this great music performed live during your stay, there will also be two music-related talks from your knowledgeable jazz host, Margaret Saddington, plus an included full day visit to Beaulieu with its famous National Motor Museum. Bands Dart Valley Stompers Led by founder Jeremy Huggett, the six-piece Dart Valley Stompers will get you out of your chairs and on your feet with their lively interpretations in traditional and New Orleans styles. Ralph Allin Quartet Look forward to some `hot jazz' from this quartet led by jazz violinist Ralph Allin, with a broad repertoire ranging from Hungarian gypsy to traditional. The Eagle Jazz Band Led by Matt Palmer, the band has a broad repertoire the focus is on the 1920s, 1930s and 1940s, with a mix of popular songs and classic compositions.
