Travel by coach from Folkestone to Cologne, via Eurotunnel or ferry, and embark Rex Rheni. Cruise to Königswinter and moor there for the night. Day 2: Königswinter to Koblenz. Wake up in the pretty village of Königswinter. After breakfast enjoy your first walk ­ through the village and up to Drachenfels to take the rack-rail train up to ruined Drachenfels Castle. Admire superb views, then walk back down to the ship, making the entire walk approximately six kilometres. This afternoon, Rex Rheni pauses in Remagen where you can join an optional excursion through the Ahr Valley. Alternatively remain on board and relax as the ship cruises to Koblenz. Day 3: Koblenz to Zell. Koblenz has a rich history spanning two millennia, and its past is reflected in a wealth of monuments and historic Walk past vineyards cultivated on steep terraces buildings. Walk through the town and take the cable car up to mighty Ehrenbreitstein Fortress, then follow a guided walk back to the ship, approximately four kilometres. Later cruise the Moselle to the picturesque town of Zell. Day 4: Zell to Bernkastel-Kues. Enjoy the early part of the morning in Zell, then board a coach to nearby Traben-Trarbach. Enjoy a walk through the woods along the Bernkasteler Weg to Bernkastel-Kues ­ around seven kilometres. The ship will moor here overnight so you can explore this beautiful town, famous for its rows of gabled houses. Day 5: Bernkastel-Kues to Cochem to Koblenz. Admire lovely scenery this morning as you cruise to Cochem, which has Reichsburg Castle as its fairytale backdrop. After lunch, transfer to Moselkern for a spectacular walk through the hills to medieval Burg Eltz castle. Continue the walk to your coach ­ making the total distance covered around nine kilometres ­ and head back to the ship. Day 6: Koblenz to Rüdesheim. Cruise the most stunning stretch of the Rhine, passing Lorelei Rock and numerous castles. At Rüdesheim join a leisurely guided walk through this charming wine town ­ approximately three kilometres ­ to see the highlights. Day 7: Rüdesheim to Cologne. Cruise back to Cologne and join a short guided walk around the Old Town and cathedral. Enjoy free time to explore the city further or continue with your walking host to the beautiful Rhine Park ­ making the walk approximately three kilometres. Day 8: Cologne to UK. Disembark and return by coach to the UK.
