Enjoy the day exploring Galicia's second largest city which has a fascinating maritime history encompassing the Celts, Phoencians and Romans, although it's best known as the port from where the ill-fated Spanish Armada set sail in 1588. Stay and explore here, or visit the ancient pilgrimage city of Santiago de Compostela. August 9. Cádiz (for Seville), Spain. Arrive 0830. Depart 2400. Moor in Cadiz, the oldest continuously inhabited settlement in Western Europe. The city's sinuous cobbled streets have felt the passage of centuries of history. Discover influences of Ancient Rome, delicious Spanish cuisine, the Cadiz Cathedral and beautiful beaches with views of Morocco. From here you can visit the largest city in Andalusia, Seville. Take advantage of the duty-free shopping, visit the fascinating military museum or discover the famed 1,400-foot-high Rock, home to the mischievous Barbary apes, by cable car. August 11. The spectacular sight of Morocco's largest mosque, Hassan II will greet you this morning before a day of exploration in Casablanca, Morocco's largest city. Discover its intoxicating fusion of European, African and Arabian influences where modern boulevards contrast with bustling medinas. Alternatively spend the day in Marrakech, home to mosques, gardens and palaces all waiting to be explored. August 13. Lisbon, Portugal. Arrive 0700. Depart 1600. Cruise under the 25 de Abril Bridge to reach Lisbon which is spread across seven hills and segmented into different districts that offer a look at the city throughout the ages. Explore the narrow streets of the hodge-podge Alfama district, admire the elegant 18th-century architecture of Baixa Pombalina or go shopping in neighbouring Chiado.
