Fly to Munich. Transfer to Obsteig in the Upper Inn Valley of the western Tyrol and the locally rated 3-star Hotel Sterm, where you will stay for the next six nights on a half-board basis. D Day 2: Garmisch-Partenkirchen and the Zugspitze. After breakfast depart from your hotel for the Bavarian ski-resort of Garmisch-Partenkirchen. After exploring the town on a guided tour, climb aboard the nostalgic cogwheel train and the Gletscherbahn cable car to take in the breathtaking views of some 400 mountain peaks spanning four countries. Return to your hotel where you can enjoy dinner this evening. B, D Day 3: Innsbruck. Today you'll head for the Tyrolean capital of Innsbruck, where a guided city tour will reveal some of its highlights including the famous `Golden Roof'. The city also boasts a fine palace, museums, charming old town and a breathtaking mountainous backdrop. After your guided tour enjoy some time at leisure to explore independently before returning to your hotel for dinner. B, D Day 4: Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis and Lake Reschen. Set off this morning for Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis, one of Austria's largest ski areas. After exploring here, you'll continue south into Italy passing by the underwater village of Graun, submerged when the artificial Lake Reschen was created. Look out for the church tower that rises out of the water. Return to your hotel for dinner this evening. B, D Day 5: Fussen and Neuschwanstein Castle. Discover the enchanting Bavarian town of Fussen which lies on Germany's Romantic Road ­ a 400-kilometre old trade route and Roman road, known for castles built by `mad' King Ludwig II. Neuschwanstein Castle in Hohenschwangau served as inspiration for the famous Walt Disney `Sleeping Beauty Castle'. At the end of your visit, return to your hotel for dinner. B, D Day 6: At leisure. Spend today at leisure and enjoy relaxing at your hotel or alternatively stroll in the surrounding countryside or try one of the activites on offer. B, D Day 7: Oberammergau. After breakfast you'll travel to the Oberammergau region and enjoy lunch prior to the start of the Passion Play at 2.30pm. Take your seats as the play begins with the customary prologue and chorus, followed by two tableaux of Adam and Eve, and a representation of the original vow made in 1633. The play then follows the life of Jesus from his entrance into Jerusalem on a donkey, to the Resurrection. There will be a three-hour interval between 5pm and 8pm when dinner will be served, before the performance recommences, finishing at approximately 10.30pm, when you'll travel to your new hotel in the Oberammergau region. B, L, D Day 8: Oberammergau-UK. After breakfast, depart from your hotel and transfer to Munich airport for your return flight to the UK.
