Day 10: Cambados-Santiago de Compostela-UK After breakfast travel to the airport for your return flight to the UK. Picos de Europa National Park Some of Europe's most spectacular mountain scenery, the Picos de Europa mountain range forms part of the Cantabrian Mountains in Northern Spain, with the highest peak reaching approximately 2,650 metres. The name traces back to the 16th century, and it is widely accepted to originate from being the first sight of Europe for ships arriving from the Americas. In the national park open meadows are filled with grazing cattle, backed by lofty limestone peaks, and small sparkling lakes sit high within the mountains. Admire the majestic scenery as you travel to Covadonga Lakes. Set in the heart of Spain's oldest national park, two glacial lakes, Lake Enol and Lake Ercina sit at an altitude of over 1000 metres amid picturesque Alpine landscapes. Keep your eyes peeled for local wildlife as you travel the mountains are home to Cantabrian brown bears, Iberian wolves and a variety of bird life, including eagles, choughs and vultures. "The beauty of this area really makes you see why it's known as `Green Spain', with rolling mountains, stunning lakes and hidden sights to be discovered, this is Spain as you've never seen her before."
