BALEARICS Balearic Island Adventure RELAXED 14 nights from £1249^ Including optional travel insurance or a reduction of £54 if not required§ Steeped in history, rich in culture and blessed with beautiful scenery, the islands of Ibiza, Majorca and Minorca are fully exposed on this adventure that takes you off the beaten track to experience the traditional side of island life, while also visiting some of the more well-known highlights too. The island's capital, Ibiza Town ACTIVITY LEVEL Day 1: UK-Ibiza. Fly to Ibiza and head to the island's east coast for a five nights at the locally rated 4-star Hotel Iberostar Santa Eulalia on a half-board basis. D Day 2: Ibiza Town. Venture inside the ancient walls of the island's capital, Ibiza Town, on an included excursion this morning. Discover the influences of the Ancient Greeks, the Romans, the Phoenicians, and the Carthaginians as you stroll the cobbled streets of Dalt Villa ­ high town ­ a UNESCO-listed site with a history that spans 2,500 years. B, D Day 3: Santa Eulalia. Look out for the luxury yachts of the jet set en route to the beautiful island of Formentera on a full-day optional trip. Known as the pine island, Formentera, is blessed with fine white sand and a crystal clear sea. B, D Day 4: North Island tour. Explore the highlights of the north of the island on an included excursion. Admire the distinctive white-washed houses and pretty churches, and learn about the heritage of the region. This afternoon perhaps enjoy a hike to the small hilltop watchtower overlooking San Miguel. B, D Day 5: Santa Eulalia. On an optional excursion this morning you'll see more of the island's southern coast, home to some of the famous locations which have gained Ibiza the reputation of being a party island. Spend the rest of the day as you choose, perhaps exploring the surrounding area. B, D Day 6: Ibiza to Coḷnia de Sant Jordi, Majorca. This morning you fly from Ibiza to Majorca, where you spend the next five nights at the locally rated 3-star Hotel Universal Romantica in pretty Coḷnia de Sant Jordi on the island's lesser frequented south-east coast. B, D Day 7: Sineu Market. The medieval village of Sineu sits at the heart of the island and is renowned for its lively market, which you'll visit on an included excursion this morning. Sineu is considered to be Majorca's gastronomic centre and it's easy to see why... buckets of olives, strings of chillies, slabs of cheese and an abundance of plump fruit are just a few of the delicacies on offer. B, L, D Day 8: Porto Cristo and the Caves of Drach. An included half-day excursion this morning visits the traditional Spanish fishing village of Porto Cristo and the famous Caves of Drach, which you explore on foot and by boat - you'll even enjoy classical music, underground! B, L, D Day 9: Coḷnia de Sant Jordi. Today you can travel through beautiful scenery on a full-day optional excursion to the Sierra de Tramuntana mountains and the traditional towns of Deia and Valldemosa. B, L, D Day 10: Palma city. Set off this morning on an included half-day trip to Palma, Majorca's charming capital. Stroll along the attractive seafront and see many buildings of interest, including Bellver Castle, the Cathedral of Palma, and the Almudaina Palace. B, L, D Day 11: Majorca to Ciutadella, Minorca. Enjoy a ferry crossing from Alcudia to Ciutadella on Minorca. You spend the next four nights at the locally rated 4-star Hotel San Luis. B, L, D Day 12: Mahón city tour. Look forward to an included guided tour of the island's historic capital, Mahón, where the harbour is backed by Georgian houses and overlooked by a mansion once occupied by Admiral Lord Nelson. Spend your afternoon at leisure. B, L, D Day 13: Ciutadella, Minorca. Today is at leisure in the former capital of Minorca, which has a varied and interesting history. Perhaps join an optional excursion visiting Visit the island's highest town, Ferriries, known for its leather shoe industry. While here, look forward to visiting Hort Sant Patrici, a family-run bodega where local cheese and wine are made. You'll also visit the attractive resort of Cala Galdana..
