Trakoscan Castle ACTIVITY LEVEL Day 1: UK to Zagreb to Trakosan. Fly to Croatia's capital, Zagreb, where you can enjoy a sightseeing trip of the city before you are transferred to the idyllic town of Trakosan. You will spend the next two nights at the locally rated 4-star Hotel Trakosan ­ a Saga Exclusive hotel, which boasts a Saga Lounge. D Day 2: Trakosan. After your included breakfast you might wish to join an optional excursion this morning to the breathtaking Plitvice Lakes National Park. Within this UNESCO World Heritage Site there's a series of 16 beautiful lakes formed by natural dams which are famous for the way that they change colour. B, L, D Day 3: Trakosan­Pag. Check out of your hotel after breakfast this morning and journey to the island of Pag in the Adriatic Sea where you will spend three nights staying at the locally rated 4 star Hotel Pagus - another Saga Exclusive hotel with a Saga Lounge. The fifth-largest of Croatia's scattered islands, Pag is known for its dramatic scenery ­ from beautiful coastline to its barren, almost lunar landscape high above sea level ­ and its eponymous hard cheese. The hotel has a Mediterranean feel and is located right across the street from the main town beach and boasts lush gardens planted with oleander and lavender. B, L, D overlooking some of Hvar's famous lavender fields. Continue to Hvar town with its citadel, the medieval walls, monasteries and palaces. Also visit Jelsa, a picturesque village. B, L, D Day 8: Hvar. Today you might wish to join an optional half-day boat trip to the island of Brac where you can visit the historic town of Bol. Tourists are drawn to the area by the picturesque beaches and clear waters. If you prefer to stay on Hvar, an alternative excursion allows you to join a wine tasting. B, L, D Trakoscan Zagreb Croatia Plitvice National Park Pag Split Stari Grad Vrbovska Dubrovnik Day 4: Pag. After breakfast look forward to an included guided panoramic tour of the island. Perhaps learn more about the cheese, for which the island is renowned, on an optional excursion. B, L, D Day 5: Pag. Today you have the option to join an excursion to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Zadar. The ancient walled port is set on a peninsula which has ruins dating back to Roman times. B, L, D Day 6: Pag­Split­Hvar. After checking out of your hotel, return to the mainland and travel to Split, where you can enjoy an included walking tour to discover the city's rich Roman heritage. Continue to the ferry terminal from where you will cross to the island of Hvar and transfer to the luxurious Senses Resort, located on the waterfront but surrounded by a pine forest and Mediterranean gardens. B, L, D Day 7: Hvar. Today you can look forward to an included full-day tour of the gorgeous island of Hvar. En route, enjoy photo stops at Day 9: Hvar­Cavtat, Dubrovnik Riviera. Check out after breakfast and return to the mainland and travel through stunning scenery en route to the Dubrovnik Riviera for a two-night stay at the locally rated 4-star Hotel Albatros. The recently renovated hotel stands on a pale pebble beach in an area of outstanding natural beauty close to the charming village of Cavtat. B, L, D Day 10: Cavtat. Enjoy a morning visit with an included city guide to the walled city of Dubrovnik, a remarkably well-preserved example of a late-medieval walled city and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. B, L, D Day 11: Cavtat­Dubrovnik­UK. Bid farewell to Croatia and after transferring from your hotel to Dubrovnik after breakfast, take your flight back to the UK.
