Magnificent views over Phewa Lake ACTIVITY LEVEL Day 1: UK-Kathmandu. Fly overnight to Kathmandu. Day 2: Kathmandu. On arrival in Kathmandu, transfer to the your hotel for a three-night stay. D Please note: Breakfast will be included this morning on departures arriving on an early morning flight. Day 3: Kathmandu. Enjoy the morning at leisure. This afternoon, visit the domed gilt and white Boudhanath Stupa flanked by monasteries, plus an opportunity to visit one of the monasteries for a blessing from a Lama. You'll also visit Kathmandu's famous Durbar Square ­ the city's ancient heart, containing more than 80 elaborate temples and monuments including the Kumari Bahal. B Day 4: Patan. This morning visit the ancient city of Patan and its breathtaking Durbar Square, which forms part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Kathmandu Valley. See fine examples of Newari architecture, temples, courtyards of the royal palace, and visit the Patan Museum with its exhibitions of Nepalese sacred art, housed in a royal palace. B Day 5: Chitwan National Park. Travel to Chitwan National Park, renowned for its wildlife, and whose most famous resident is the solitary Royal Bengal tiger. Watch too for leopard, deer, sloth bear and the Asian one-horned rhinoceros. Stay for three nights on full board at a jungle lodge, enjoying jungle activities at your resort this afternoon. B, L, D Day 6: Chitwan National Park. With over 525 different species of bird and 100 species of butterfly, choose from included activities such as birdwatching, tribal dancing display or a jungle safari. B, L, D Day 7: Chitwan National Park. Join an included activity such as a jungle walk or river safari, or relax at your hotel. B, L, D Day 8: Chitwan-Pokhara. Enjoy a scenic drive to Pokhara where you stay two nights, taking in views of famous Annapurna 1, and the mountains of Dhaulagiri, Manasulu, and Fishtail. B Day 9: Pokhara. Visit the Gurkha Museum, revealing the lives of Gurkha soldiers and the role they played in past conflicts, plus the chance to meet a Gurkha veteran who will offer insights into his experiences as a Gurkha. You'll also drive to see the serene Phewa Lake in Pokhara, one of Nepal's largest lakes. B Day 10: Pokhara mountainside. Perhaps join a pre-breakfast birdwatching walk before transferring to your second accommodation in Pokhara, situated outside the city on a ridge offering fine views of the Himalayas. Enjoy today at leisure, Later, walk to a neighbouring village or perhaps enjoy an activity at your hotel. B, L, D Day 12: Pokhara-Kathmandu. Travel to Kathmandu where you'll stay a further two nights. B Day 13: Kathmandu. Visit the city of Bhaktapur, home to buildings including the 55 Window Palace housing the National Art Gallery, and the Golden Gate. Enjoy lunch prepared by a local family in their home before setting off for a light walk through the village of Gundu to see the work of the local farmers.
