G G G G G G The Turquoise Coast ACTIVITY LEVEL Day 1: UK-Antalya. Fly to Antalya and stay at the locally rated 5-star Paloma Foresta for four nights. D Day 2: Kemer. Enjoy a couple of hours looking around the boutiques, bazaars and marina on a morning visit to Kemer. This afternoon, an optional excursion visits the ancient Lycian city of Phaselis. B, L, D Day 3: Olympos National Park. Travel to the village of Ulupinar and perhaps join a three-hour hike through the pine forests of Olympos National Park to the beach village of Cirali. A light lunch box will be provided. B, L, D Day 4: Antalya. At leisure. B, L, D Day 5: Antalya-Fethiye. Set off for Demra to visit the Byzantine St Nicholas Church. Continue to Myra, an ancient Lycian city buried by an earthquake in AD 141. Pause in Kas for lunch at a restaurant en route to Xanthos, the old Lycian capital. Continue to Fethiye for a three-night stay at the locally rated 3-star Harman Hotel. B, L, D Day 6: Saklikent Gorge. Walk along a suspended walkway into Turkey's deepest gorge, an 18 kilometre-long ravine with 300 metre-high rock walls on this morning's visit. Afternoon at leisure. B, L, D Day 7: Fethiye. At leisure. B, L, D Day 8: Fethiye-Kusadasi. Walk around the Ionic columns that remain from one of the ancient world's most famous sites, the Temple of Apollo at Didyma. Continue to Kusadasi for a three-night stay at the locally rated 5-star Paloma Pasha. Lunch at a local restaurant. B, L, D Day 9: Ephesus. Explore the UNESCO-listed ensemble of Ephesus on a morning guided tour. Next discover the largest collection of Greek and Roman ruins in the eastern Mediterranean. Highlights include the great Library of Celsus, the amphitheatre and the single remaining pillar of the original Temple of Artemis, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. B, L, D Day 10: Kusadasi. At leisure. B, L, D Day 11: Kusadasi-Side. Depart early for Side, pausing en route to visit the limestone terraces of Pamukkale. Continue to Hierapolis to see a Roman spa city. Travel to Side for a four-night stay at the locally rated 5-star Sentido Perissa. Lunch at a local restaurant. B, L, D Day 12: Side. At leisure. B, L, D Day 13: Antalya. Set off on an hour-long walk around Side and on to Manavgat River. Continue by road to Antalya for lunch at a restaurant and afterwards, spend an hour exploring its old town, Kaleici, independently. Next visit the archaeological site of Perge, founded in 1500 BC. B, L, D Day 14: Side. Perhaps venture into the ancient port city of Side with its wealth of Roman ruins, just three kilometres away. B, L, D Day 15: Side-UK.
