This tour will tick these bucket list ambitions... Victoria Falls ACTIVITY LEVEL Day 1: UK-Nairobi. Fly overnight to Nairobi. Day 2: Nairobi-Masai Mara Arrive in Nairobi and transfer to the Masai Mara Game Reserve. The Reserve offers plenty to see throughout the year, including elephant, lion, cheetah, baboon, giraffe, gazelle, jackal, hyena, Cape buffalo, ostrich and several species of antelope, in one of the most impressive natural backdrops in Africa. You stay three nights in a game camp. Late this afternoon head out on a game drive in the Masai Mara. L D Day 3: Masai Mara. Rise early for a game drive, returning to the camp for breakfast and a morning at leisure. You can join in activities such as guided bird walks, visits to the Masai Manyatta homestead and safari walks around the lodge, organised by the camp. An extra charge will apply to these activities. Enjoy an afternoon game drive. B, L, D Day 4: Masai Mara. Most of today is given over to further wildlife-viewing opportunities, including early morning and late afternoon game drives here in one of the key game viewing destinations. B, L, D Day 5: Nairobi. After breakfast, take a scenic 260 kilometre drive back to Nairobi (with comfort stops). After a light lunch transfer to your hotel for an overnight stay with dinner included. B, L, D Day 6: Livingstone, Zambia. After breakfast, travel to the airport for your flight to Livingstone in Zambia. Transfer to your hotel set close to Victoria Falls for a two-night stay. This evening, enjoy a pre-dinner sunset cruise on the Zambezi River, watching for wildlife. B Day 7: Livingstone. Join an included walking tour on the Zambia side of the Falls. `Discovered' by Dr David Livingstone in 1855, they were named in honour of Queen Victoria. They are nearly two kilometres wide and 91 metres deep. An optional excursion visits Zimbabwe to view the Falls from the other side (dry season departures only). You'll need to have bought a KAZI visa on arrival in Livingstone that allows you to pass from Zambia to Zimbabwe, if you intend to take this excursion. Alternatively enjoy lunch on Livingstone Island in Zambia, on the edge of the Falls. An optional dinner on the Royal Livingstone Express train may be available. (Please note: for departures in September, October and November the walking tour will be on the Zimbabwean side of Victoria Falls). B Day 8:Cape Town-Franschhoek, South Africa. After breakfast, fly to Cape Town. Drive out to the Cape Winelands for a two-night stay near the town of Franschhoek. B, D Day 9: Franschhoek. Enjoy a full day exploring the winelands. Visit a vineyard for a tasting, then travel into Franschhoek for free time to explore the `culinary capital of South Africa'. Buy yourself lunch then travel to Stellenbosch. Founded in 1679 by the Dutch East India Company, it is the second oldest town in South Africa. Discover its history during a visit to the museum. B Day 10: Cape Town. Depart for Cape Town for a three-night stay on the V & A waterfront. In 1652 Jan van Riebeeck sailed into Table Bay and laid the foundations of South Africa's oldest city. To this day, Cape Town has maintained a reputation for friendly hospitality. B Day 11: Cape Town. Enjoy a day at leisure to explore this vibrant city. The Victoria and Alfred Waterfront has revitalised the working harbour and has an array of restaurants, bars and shops as well as the Two Oceans Aquarium and the South African Maritime Museum. Or go exploring further afield, perhaps visit the Kirstenbosch botanical garden. An optional excursion visits a township. B Day 12: Cape Town. Join a full-day tour of the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve, including Cape Point.
