Discover the highlights ­ visit the Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu, take to the waters of Lake Titicaca, go in search of Andean condors and visit Inca ruins in the colonial cities of Cuzco and Lima... See the colours of Cuzco - the Incan imperial capital ACTIVITY LEVEL Day 1: UK-Lima. Fly overnight to South America. Day 2: Lima. Arrive in Lima and transfer to your hotel where you stay overnight. Enjoy a welcome dinner this evening. D. Day 3: Cuzco-Sacred Valley. Fly to Cuzco in Peru. Transfer to the Sacred Valley for a two-night stay. B . Day 4: Sacred Valley. Join an included full-day excursion to the town of Pisaq, where you can peruse the market, then visit the impressive ruins of the Incan town of Ollantaytambo. B, L Day 5: Sacred Valley-Machu Picchu.Take a train into the mountains to the ruins of Machu Picchu and tour this mysterious ancient site. Stay overnight in a nearby hotel in Aguas Calientes. B, L, D Day 6: Machu Picchu-Cuzco. Enjoy a morning at leisure, perhaps returning to atmospheric Machu Picchu. This afternoon, travel to Cuzco for a two-night stay. B Day 7: Cuzco. Today is at leisure in Cuzco, the imperial capital of the Inca Empire. An optional tour visits some remnants of that era, including a temple dedicated to the Inca sun god, Inti, and the incredible fortress of Sacsayhuaman, built from stones of mind-boggling size. Another optional tour allows you to trek from the fortres back to the city. Look forward to a dinner show at a restaurant. B, D Day 8: Puno. The long coach journey to Puno is punctuated by visits to the Church of St Peter the Apostle in Andahuaylillas ­ known as the Sisitine Chapel of the Andes! ­ and the impressive Incan temple remains of Raqchi. Stay two nights in Puno. Alternatively, you can journey from Cuzco to Puno by luxury train for an additional charge, though this journey will not visit Andahuaylillas and Raqchi. B, L Day 9: Lake Titicaca. On today's memorable excursion you'll head out on the waters of Lake Titicaca to visit the Uros community, whose homes are on floating `islands' made of reeds. Also visit Taquile Island, where a community lives simply on the ancient Incan terraces, and have lunch in a local home. B, L Day 10: Colca. Enjoy a scenic drive to the stunning Colca Valley and stay overnight. B, L, D Day 12: Arequipa. An included half-day city tour also takes in Santa Catalina, a huge convent with brightly painted walls. originally built in 1579 and enlarged in the following century to more than 20,000 square metres. Some 20 nuns still reside in the northern corner of the complex. B Day 13: Lima. Transfer to Lima for an an afternoon at leisure and overnight stay. Enjoy a memorable farewell dinner at a restaurant which overlooks the illuminated ruins of Huaca Pucllana, a vast 5th-century pyramid built from millions of clay bricks. B, D Days 14-15: Lima. An optional tour of the city reveals its colonial elegance. This afternoon, transfer to the airport for your return overnight flight to the UK, arriving the next day. B . Accommodation...
