Head into the lush Viñales Valley ACTIVITY LEVEL Day 1: UK-Havana. Depart in the morning for your daytime flight to Havana where you stay two nights. D Day 2: Havana. Discover old and new Havana on an included tour, ranging from the cobbled streets, Cuban baroque cathedral and faded pastel mansions of Old Havana ­ a UNESCO World Heritage Site, to Revolutionary Square, Havana University and Las Rampas, the cultural heart of Havana's high-rise metropolis. Enjoy lunch and dinner at a local restaurant. B, L, D Day 3: Havana-Viñales Valley. Travel first to Las Terrazas Nature Reserve, where you can explore and enjoy an included lunch. Afterwards, continue to Viñales where you stay two nights. B, L, D Day 4: Viñales Valley. The valley is famous for its limestone formations known as 'mogotes' ­ isolated rocky formations with flat tops. After viewing these Jurassic limestone formations, explore underground caves on an included boat trip, then visit a Cigar Factory in Pinar del Rio, before an afternoon at leisure. B, L, D Day 5: Viñales Valley-Havana. Return to Havana for a further night. This afternoon join an included excursion which takes you on the trail of the author and Nobel prize winner Ernest Hemingway who made Havana his home for nearly 20 years. B, L, D Day 6: Cienfuegos and the Bay of Pigs. En route to Cienfuegos where you stay for three nights, pause at the Bay of Pigs ­ famous for the unsuccessful 1961 attempt to overthrow Castro's government, when about 1,500 exiles, partially backed by the USA, landed here but were stopped by Castro's troops. Visit the Playa Giron Museum, which tells the story of the 1961 attempt. B, L, D Day 7: Cienfuegos. Enjoy an included tour of the UNESCO-listed seaside town of Cienfuegos with its peninsula occupied by 1920's mansions, and beautifully-preserved French colonial heart. You can aslo look forward to a boat trip, before lunch in a local restaurant. B, L, D Day 8: Cienfuegos to Trinidad to Cienfuegos. Visit the historic town of Trinidad in central Cuba. Trinidad forms part of a UNESCO World Heritage site and is home to cobbled streets lined with pastel-coloured villas, a 19th-century cathedral and a museum. Afterwards, enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. B, L, D Day 9: Cienfuegos-Santa Clara-Varadero. Head to Varadero, enjoy lunch at a local restaurant, and stop en route at the final resting place of Che Guevara. Spend three nights on an all-inclusive basis at the seaside resort of Varadero . B, L, D Days 10-11: Varadero. Spend the rest of your holiday at leisure or enjoying optional excursions including a catamaran cruise to the northern cays. B, L, D Day 12: Varadero-Havana-UK. Travel to Havana airport for your overnight flight. B, L Day 13: UK. Arrive in the morning for your included UK door-to-door travel service home. Accommodation...
