You can discover both their natural rugged beauty and fascinating cultures on this exceptional tour. Bonifacio's harbour ACTIVITY LEVEL Day 1: UK-Cagliari-Alghero. Fly to Cagliari, Sardinia and transfer to the locally rated 4-star Horse Country Resort in Arborea for an overnight stay, stopping for lunch (not included) at Santa Giusta, near Oristano en route. The hotel has a tranquil countryside setting, with a private beach. D Day 2: Alghero. This morning an included excursion reveals the spectacular cliffs of Capo Caccia. Later, arrive in Alghero and transfer to the locally rated 4-star Hotel Catalunya in Alghero, where you'll stay for two nights. This afternoon enjoy a pleasant stroll through the medieval centre of Alghero, within easy reach of your hotel. B Day 3: Alghero. Perhaps join an optional excursion to Torralba to see the famous UNESCO-listed stone ruins known as 'nuraghi.' Also visit the Church of the Santissima Trinita, with the only existing 13th-century frescoes on the island. B, D Day 4: Alghero-Calvi. Contrast the scenery of the two islands today as you transfer from Alghero to Calvi, Corsica, by coach and ferry. Stay for the next four nights at the locally rated 4-star Hotel L'Abbaye in Calvi. Dinner is included this evening and on your final evening. B, D Day 5: Calvi. After a leisurely breakfast, enjoy an included orientation tour of Calvi with its huge medieval citadel and lovely beaches. The afternoon is free to relax and explore your surroundings. B Day 6: Calvi. Today you'll take a scenic drive to the island's interior and visit the charming historical village of Corte, set high in the mountains. B Day 7: Calvi. An optional excursion visits Ile Rousse, named after the islets that blush a deep russet red in the sunset. This laid back seaside town has beaches of white sand, and a bustling marketplace with cafes in the village square. The nearby Parc de Saleccia is a landscaped botanic garden set in the heart of the Corsican Maquis. B, D Day 8: Calvi-Arzachena. Today travel to spectacular Arzachena back in Sardinia where you spend the next three nights at the locally rated 4-star Hotel Airone. B, D Day 9: Emerald Coast. This morning there is an included excursion that visits exclusive resorts along the Emerald Coast including Baia Sardinia. This afternoon is at leisure. B, D Day 10: Arzachena. Today a full-day optional excursion heads to Aggius, a picturesque village of granite stone, home to a rich tradition of weaving and hand-loom carpet making. In the company of a local guide, visit the village and its museums of daily life and history of banditry, and enjoy a spot of wine tasting before heading back to the hotel. B, D Day 11: Arzachena to Cagliari. Travel to Cagliari, stopping en route for lunch (not included), and stay one last night at the locally rated 4-star T-Hotel. This ultra-modern hotel is located opposite the stylish brand new 'Music Plaza.' B, D Day 12: Cagliari-UK. Travel to Cagliari airport for your return flight home.
