USA Taste of the Deep South 13 nights from £2699 Including optional travel insurance or from £2589 without insurance§ From Nashville to New Orleans, this exciting tour gives you a real flavour of the musical heritage of the American Deep South. Visit Elvis Presley's Graceland, explore Nashville, New Orleans and Memphis, and tour the famous Jack Daniel's Distillery. Explore New Orleans' French Quarter ACTIVITY LEVEL Day 1: UK-Atlanta. Depart for your flight to Atlanta where you stay for one night. Day 2: Atlanta-Chattanooga. Travel to Chattanooga and stay overnight. Take a trip on the Incline Railway up Lookout Mountain ­ the world's steepest passenger railway ­ and enjoy views over the mountains. B Day 3: Chattanooga-Lynchburg-Nashville. Join an included tour of the Jack Daniel's distillery in Lynchburg, and enjoy a tasting of its famous whisky. Continue to Nashville where you stay for two nights, taking in a show at the Grand Ole Opry where many country legends ­ from Patsy Cline to Dolly Parton ­ have performed. B Please note: Departures on April 5, 2020 enjoy a Nashville Night Life dinner show instead. Day 4: Nashville. Enjoy an included morning tour of Nashville, known as the country music capital of the world. You'll also visit the Country Music Hall of Fame. B Day 5: Nashville-Tupelo-Memphis. Stop at Tupelo ­ Elvis Presley's birthplace, and see the shack where the young Elvis lived, visit the museum with its collection of Presley memorabilia, and explore the greater complex which also houses a chapel and the Assembly of God church. Continue to Memphis for a two-night stay. B Day 6: Memphis. After a short included orientation tour this morning, visit Elvis Presley's legendary home, Graceland, where he lived from 1957 until his death in 1977. Enjoy an audio tour of the mansion and grounds. The afternoon is at leisure. B Day 7: Memphis-Natchez. Travel south, crossing the border into Mississippi to Natchez, where you stay overnight. En route stop at the Delta Blues Museum. B Day 8: Natchez-New Orleans. Continue to New Orleans, pausing en route to visit the Oak Alley Plantation. Enjoy an included orientation tour in New Orleans where you stay three nights. B Day 9: New Orleans. Enjoy the day at leisure, perhaps exploring independently or joining an optional city tour. B Day 10: New Orleans. Spend a further day at leisure exploring the city, with its historic French Quarter, famous 'House of the Rising Sun' and Cathedral of St Louis. Perhaps join an optional cruise around the Louisiana swamps and bayous, or a river cruise with dinner and jazz aboard a traditional paddle steamer on the Mississippi. B Day 11: New Orleans-Birmingham. Leave New Orleans and head to Birmingham in Alabama, where you stay overnight. Martin Luther King pioneered the civil rights movement from Alabama and a coach tour reveals the Civil Rights District and a replica Statue of Liberty. B Day 12: Birmingham-Atlanta. Travel back to Atlanta where you stay overnight. Regarded as the `Capital of the South', enjoy an afternoon city tour visiting the Martin Luther King Jr. National Historic Site, comprising King's birthplace, the Ebeneezer Baptist Chapel where he preached, and his grave. B Day 13: Atlanta-UK. Enjoy some time at leisure before travelling to the airport for your overnight flight back to the UK overnight. B Day 14: UK. Arrive in the UK.
