Fly overnight to Lima. Day 2: Lima. Arrive in the morning. Perhaps enjoy an optional tour of Peru's capital, taking in the highlights. Stay overnight. Day 3: Sacred Valley. Fly to Cuzco and transfer to the Sacred Valley. Descend into the colourful market town of Pisac for lunch and to explore the colourful Indian market. Stay overnight nearby. B, L Day 4: Machu Picchu. Visit the charming village of Ollantaytambo, then embark on an included narrow-gauge railway journey along the Sacred Valley. Catch a bus to the ancient Incan city of Machu Picchu which remained hidden in the Andean mountain-tops until 1911 when it was `rediscovered' by Hiram Bingham. Stay overnight nearby. B, L, D Day 5: Cuzco. Morning at leisure to explore or make an optional return visit to Machu Picchu. Travel to Cuzco for a two-night stay. B Day 6: Cuzco. At 3,400 metres above sea level, Cuzco is one of the highest cities in the world. Join an included tour of the city and Sacsayhuaman's walls. Afternoon at leisure. B Day 7: Quito. Fly to Ecuador's capital, Quito, for a two-night stay. An optional excursion visits the Equatorial Line Monument, or set off on an optional trip on the Teleferiqo cable car. B Day 8: Quito. Visit the Otavalo Indian Market where you can watch locals bartering and browse the stalls of clothing produced by Otavaleno weavers. B, L Day 9: Galapagos Islands. Fly to the Galapagos Islands and board MV Galapagos Legend for a three-night, full-board cruise around the archipelago whose unique flora and fauna inspired Charles Darwin's theory on evolution. Cruise to Santa Cruz Island and visit the Pit Craters, and the Highlands ­ home to giant tortoises. B, L, D Day 10: Genovesa Island. Visit Prince Philip's Steps and marvel at the sea and bird life that call the island's lava cliffs home. At Darwin Bay follow a scenic trail to see rare bird species. B, L, D Day 11: Santa Cruz island and Santa Fe Island. Visit Dragon Hill with its population of Galapagos land iguanas. Afterwards visit Santa Fe Island with its sea lion colonies, a cactus forest and the largest iguanas of the islands. B, L, D Day 12: Santa Cruz Island to Quito. Visit Bachas, and beaches on the north of the island, the main nesting sites for sea turtles. Disembark your ship and fly to Quito for an overnight stay. B D Day 13: Quito. Enjoy a guided tour of Quito with its Spanish colonial buildings. Later, transfer to the airport for your overnight flight to the UK, via Bogota. B, L Day 14: UK. Arrive in the UK this afternoon.
