After taking Saga's included UK door-to-door travel service to the airport, fly overnight to Cape Town. Day 2: Cape Town-Simon's town. Continue to Simon's Town on the Cape Peninsula, and spend three nights at the Quayside hotel (4Q), or Calders Hotel & Conference Centre (4Q) in Fish Hoek, dependent upon your date of departure. B, D Day 3: Simon's Town. Enjoy a half-day tour of Cape Peninsular with an exhilarating funicular ride to a decommissioned lighthouse, and time to explore the Cape of Good Hope. Visit Hout Bay for lunch via spectacular Chapman's Peak Drive, followed by a boat ride to Seal Island, looking out for dolphin, orca and whales. B, L Day 4: Simon's Town. Enjoy a day at leisure to explore Simon's Town. An important naval port since 1680, you can discover its history at the Naval and Submarine Museum. Look out for the statue of `Just Nuisance', the only canine member of the Royal Navy. B, D Day 5: Simon's Town-Cape Town-Somerset West. Drive to Cape Town and enjoy a city tour, including a cable car ride (weather permitting) to the top of Table Mountain. After your tour, enjoy free time to explore the waterfront independently before continuing to Somerset West, in the heart of the winelands, where you'll spend two nights at the NH The Lord Charles (4Q). B, D B, D Day 6: Somerset West. Exploring the Cape Winelands, between the Helderberg Mountains and the Atlantic Ocean. It was here that the original French Huguenots settled and introduced wine-growing and production to South Africa. Discover the local wineries aboard the Green Line hop-on-hop-off tram. B, L, D Day 7: Somerset West-Pilanesberg. After breakfast, fly to Johannesburg and transfer to the Ivory Tree Lodge (4Q) in the Pilanesberg National Park for a two-night stay. Set out on the first of four thrilling game drives through the park, in search of the `Big Five'. The park is one of the largest in South Africa, spanning a zone between the dry Kalahari and wetter Lowveld. B, L, D Day 8: Pilanesberg. After breakfast, embark on a day in the bush, including two game drives and a bush experience. You'll travel through the park in an open, 4x4 safari vehicle and experience encounters with some of the park's 7,000 animals. B, L, D Day 9: PilanesbergJohannesburg-UK. This morning you will be treated to a game drive before breakfast. Mornings are the perfect time for spotting the abundant wildlife, with large predators choosing the cooler hours to hunt.
